Cashflow Accounts |
Top Previous Next |
Cashflow management means making sure you have enough money to pay your bills. There is not much point in having a smart car and not having enough money to buy food. You need to keep an eye on what you have in the Bank, what you are owed, what you owe to others, what your income is and what your expenses are.
You can designate any Current Asset or Current Liability account (in the 50000 to 69999 range in the Account Names list) as a cashflow account.
The types of account are Bank Account, Charge (Credit Card) Account, Debtor Account, Creditor Account and - if you are using the Professional skill level - Customer Account and Supplier Account. Each of these account types has the reconciliation facilities that help keep you in step with eg your Bank Statements.
If you are using the Professional skill level, VAT / Sales Tax transactions can be created in the cashflow accounts.
Any account designated as a cashflow account will appear under the appropriate tab in the Account Names window. These tabbed listings group all the cashflow accounts of each type and show you the age of outstanding debt.
